Bottom line was getting the mount command correct. First confirmed the share was setup properly on the NAS. Then made sure the registry entry in Windows 1o had been created.

Navigate here in regedit and add the 32-bit DWORD entries for AnonymousGid & AnonymousUid
From the cmd that you opened with Administrator issue: mount -o nolock anon \\IP\path\to\share
